Built-in far-field microphone
No TV micThis model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.
Amazon's device specification page lists "Mic: Not Supported" for this model, so the TV itself has no microphone. Hands-free Alexa works only through a linked Echo device; otherwise voice control uses the remote's microphone button.
Security vulnerabilities in Fire TV
SupportedThis model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.
What that actually means for your TV →
Amazon's Software Security Updates page lists the Fire TV 2-Series 32 and 40-inch with security updates until at least 31 December 2030, or at least four years from purchase if bought new from Amazon, whichever is later. Those rows give no release year; the 2025 sets have their own rows. Amazon says this isn't a guarantee of how long the device will last. Checked 19 Oct 2026.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
Has ACRThis model has Amazon's ACR feature (branded "Automatic Content Recognition"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
Amazon's help page says that when ACR is enabled on a Fire TV smart TV, Amazon identifies what you watch through connected devices such as a cable box, and that it is managed at Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition. Amazon doesn't say whether it is on by default. Enabling it on one Fire TV device doesn't enable it on others.
