Built-in far-field microphone
No TV micThis model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.
Amazon's own official device specification page lists "Mic: Not Supported" for this exact model — an explicit statement that this budget tier has no microphone hardware in the TV chassis at all. Voice control works only through the remote's press-to-talk mic button.
Security vulnerabilities in Fire TV
SupportedThis model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.
What that actually means for your TV →
Amazon's Software Security Updates page lists the Amazon Ember 2-Series and Fire TV 2-Series 32- and 40-inch (2025 release) with security updates until at least 31 December 2030, or at least four years from purchase if bought new from Amazon, whichever is later. Amazon says this isn't a guarantee of how long the device will last. Checked 19 Oct 2026.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
Has ACRThis model has Amazon's ACR feature (branded "Automatic Content Recognition"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
Amazon's own official Automatic Content Recognition help page describes the feature directly: when enabled, it fingerprints content "through connected devices, such as a cable set-top-box" (not just Amazon's own apps) by sampling audio or pixels and matching against a database, and can be managed at Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition. Amazon's page doesn't state whether it's on by default. Enabling it on one Fire TV device doesn't enable it on others.
