Built-in far-field microphone

No TV mic

This model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.

What a far-field mic does →

The EU product information sheets for the 55U8QF, 55U8QFTUK, 65U8QF and 65U8QFTUK say "Voice recognition sensor available: No". Hisense's own manual agrees: the front of the TV has only a remote sensor, power light and one button, and the voice microphone is on the remote ("Voice command", "Receive the voice"). Hisense's spec sheet and UK spec list don't mention a microphone in the TV.

Security vulnerabilities in VIDAA

Supported

This model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.

What that actually means for your TV →

The EU product information sheets promise software and firmware updates for at least 8 years after the model stops being sold (the 55U8QF until 31/05/2023, the 55U8QFTUK until 31/12/2022). The supplier corrected these sheets on 14/06/2025. No Hisense page with an update history for this model was found.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Unverified

Whether this model runs ACR hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

Hisense's manual for the U8QF lists an "Enhance Viewing" step in first-time setup, which adjusts the picture and sound mode when the content is "recognized by the automatic content recognition service", and says it applies only in certain models and countries. Smart features are switched on one by one when you accept each privacy notice. The manual doesn't say whether viewing data is collected, so this stays unverified.
