Built-in far-field microphone

Unverified

Whether this model has a built-in microphone (beyond the remote) hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

What a far-field mic does →

LG's US specifications have no Hands-free Voice Control row. They list "Always Ready: Yes" and "Intelligent Voice Recognition: Yes", a "Standard Remote" in the box, and "Magic Remote Control: Ready (requires AI Magic Remote)". The shared owner's manual mentions voice recognition in Always Ready only "depending upon model", so neither source says whether the TV itself has a microphone.

Security vulnerabilities in webOS

Supported

This model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.

What that actually means for your TV →

LG's US product page says software updates "will automatically download for up to 4 years"; that is a ceiling, not a promised minimum. The support page listed no software downloads for this model (checked 19 Oct 2026).

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has LG's ACR feature (branded "Live Plus"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

LG's 12 Sep 2026 statement covers LG smart TVs in general, not this model. It says ACR is optional, turned off by default, and only runs once you accept LG's Viewing Information Agreement; you can withdraw or turn it off in the TV's settings.

Looks for other devices on your home network

Looks for devices

LG says this TV looks for compatible devices on your home network, for features like connecting to them, and doesn't describe a setting that turns this off. To keep it away from your other devices, you can put the TV on a separate guest network.

How to put a TV on its own network →

LG says its smart TVs use device discovery to find compatible devices on your home network, such as set-top boxes, games consoles and smart home devices, and that this information isn't used for advertising (statement, 12 Sep 2026). LG doesn't describe a setting that turns it off. A 2026 Gamers Nexus test on an LG G3 found the TV repeatedly contacting other devices on the network even with no agreements accepted. Whether the list of devices is sent to LG hasn't been shown publicly.
