Whether this model has a built-in microphone (beyond the remote) hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

What a far-field mic does →

We couldn't find a live LG product page for the QNED90, and LG's own pages we could open don't say whether the QNED90 has a microphone in the TV itself. Unverified. Checked 6 Nov 2026.

Security vulnerabilities in webOS

Unverified

Firmware support status hasn't been confirmed for this model from a citable source yet.

What that actually means for your TV →

LG's US support page for the 86QNED90UPA lists software version 03.53.45, dated 30 Sep 2025, and nothing newer. LG gives no end date for this model, and its January 2024 US webOS Re:New announcement names 2022 models and doesn't mention 2021 ones, so whether this model still gets updates isn't confirmed by LG's pages. Checked 23 Oct 2026.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has LG's ACR feature (branded "Live Plus"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

LG's 12 Sep 2026 statement describes ACR (Live Plus) on LG smart TVs generally, not this specific model. LG says it is turned off by default and only runs once you accept the Viewing Information Agreement.

Looks for other devices on your home network

Looks for devices

LG says this TV looks for compatible devices on your home network, for features like connecting to them, and doesn't describe a setting that turns this off. To keep it away from your other devices, you can put the TV on a separate guest network.

How to put a TV on its own network →

LG says its smart TVs use device discovery to find compatible devices on your home network, such as set-top boxes, games consoles and smart home devices, and that this information isn't used for advertising (statement, 12 Sep 2026). LG doesn't describe a setting that turns it off. A 2026 Gamers Nexus test on an LG G3 found the TV repeatedly contacting other devices on the network even with no agreements accepted. Whether the list of devices is sent to LG hasn't been shown publicly.
