Built-in far-field microphone

Has mic

This model has a built-in far-field microphone, which is the hardware hands-free voice control uses.

What a far-field mic does →

Panasonic's US owner's manual names all three Z95BP models and explicitly states that the TV has microphones for hands-free Alexa, including while the screen is off. It also documents a physical switch on the bottom of the TV that disconnects power from the microphones; the remote microphone remains available.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has Panasonic's ACR feature (branded "Automatic Content Recognition"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

This model runs Fire TV, and Amazon's own official Automatic Content Recognition help page — not Panasonic's — describes the feature directly: when enabled, it fingerprints content "through connected devices, such as a cable set-top-box" (not just Amazon's own apps) by sampling audio or pixels and matching against a database, and can be managed at Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition. Amazon's page doesn't state whether it's on by default. Enabling it on one Fire TV device doesn't enable it on others.

Looks for other devices on your home network

Unverified

Whether this model looks for other devices on your home network hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

How to put a TV on its own network →

The owner's manual documents Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other network features, but those connections do not establish continuous scanning of other devices on the local network.

Settings for Fire TV

ACR settings: Automatic Content Recognition, Device Usage Data, Collect App Usage Data and Broadcast Live TV Data (UK).

Fire TV shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗

Fire TV settings guide: ACR and ads on every brand's Fire TV models → It lists them once for every model with this software. Software updates can reset these settings, so check again after an update.
