Built-in far-field microphone

No TV mic

This model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.

What a far-field mic does →

Samsung's UK 2024 Simple User Guide, which covers the DU7 series, says the microphone switch on the TV is "supported only in" its QN, Q7, Q8, S8, S9 and The Frame series, which leaves out the DU7100. Samsung UK's DU7100 pages list Bixby as "Yes (Voice Ready)" and have no far-field voice row.

Security vulnerabilities in Tizen

Supported

This model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.

What that actually means for your TV →

Samsung's UK security statement for 2024 TVs gives security updates to 31 December 2029 for the 43, 50, 55, 60, 65, 75 and 85-inch DU7100. It doesn't list the 70-inch, which has its own Samsung UK page.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

Samsung's UK Viewing Information Services notice (effective 1 April 2026) covers its smart TVs in general, not this model by name. It runs only if you tick "I consent to Viewing Information Services", and covers broadcast TV, apps and devices such as set-top boxes and games consoles.

Settings for Tizen 8

ACR settings: Viewing Information Services.

Tizen shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗

All Samsung TV settings, by software version → It lists them once for every model with this software. Software updates can reset these settings, so check again after an update.
