Built-in far-field microphone

No TV mic

This model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.

What a far-field mic does →

Samsung's own official retailer spec sheet lists "Far-Field Voice Interaction: N/A" in its Smart Service table for every size listed — an explicit absence, not silence, matching the pattern seen across Samsung's other entry-level QLED/Crystal UHD tiers. (This same sheet has an unrelated data-quality glitch — 3 of its 4 size rows show a copy-pasted S95D model number instead of a Q60D one — but the Far-Field row itself is unaffected and consistent across all rows.) Samsung's UK Q60D pages have no far-field voice row, and the UK 2024 user guide's list of models with a microphone switch on the TV includes the Q7 and Q8 but not the Q6 series.

Security vulnerabilities in Tizen

Unverified

Firmware support status hasn't been confirmed for this model from a citable source yet.

What that actually means for your TV →

Samsung's UK Q60D pages give a "Security Update Period (At least 5 years from launch of product)" to 31 December 2029. We couldn't find a current Samsung US product page for the Q60D that states an OS upgrade or security update period, and this entry covers the US models too, so it isn't marked as confirmed. Checked 6 Nov 2026.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

Samsung's US support article covers its smart TVs in general, not this model by name. Asked "What models of TVs does this apply to?", it answers "All Smart TVs manufactured by Samsung." It says ACR is optional and only runs if you opted in to the Viewing Information Services notice when setting up the TV, or turned it on later in Settings. So the TV has the feature, and Samsung says it's off unless you agree to it. Checked 23 Oct 2026.

Settings for Tizen 8

ACR settings: Viewing Information Services.

Tizen shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗

All Samsung TV settings, by software version → It lists them once for every model with this software. Software updates can reset these settings, so check again after an update.
