Built-in far-field microphone
No TV micThis model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.
Samsung's own official retailer spec sheet lists "Far-Field Voice Interaction: N/A" in its Smart Service table for every size (55/65/75/85), alongside "Bixby: Yes" and "Built-in Voice Assistant: Alexa" — the explicit-absence pattern seen across Samsung's entry-level tiers, not silence. Samsung's UK Q7F pages have no far-field voice row, and the UK 2025 user guide's list of models with a microphone switch on the TV includes the Q8F but not the Q7F.
Security vulnerabilities in Tizen
SupportedThis model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.
What that actually means for your TV →
Samsung's US product page for the Q7F says "Plus get 7 years of automatic OS updates", based on model year and with an internet connection. Samsung's UK Q7F pages give a security update period to 31 December 2030. Checked 6 Nov 2026.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
Has ACRThis model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
Samsung's US support article covers its smart TVs in general, not this model by name. Asked "What models of TVs does this apply to?", it answers "All Smart TVs manufactured by Samsung." It says ACR is optional and only runs if you opted in to the Viewing Information Services notice when setting up the TV, or turned it on later in Settings. So the TV has the feature, and Samsung says it's off unless you agree to it. Checked 23 Oct 2026.
