Built-in far-field microphone

Has mic

This model has a built-in far-field microphone, which is the hardware hands-free voice control uses.

What a far-field mic does →

Samsung's own official US product page lists "Far-Field Voice Interaction: Yes" directly in its specifications table, alongside "Bixby: Yes" and "Built-in Voice Assistant: Alexa" — the same explicit hardware-capability row confirmed on the QN90F and other flagship-tier Samsung sets. Samsung's UK QN900F pages also list "Far-Field Voice Interaction: Yes".

Security vulnerabilities in Tizen

Supported

This model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.

What that actually means for your TV →

Samsung's US product page for the QN900F says "Plus get 7 years of automatic OS updates", based on model year and with an internet connection. Samsung's UK QN900F pages give a security update period to 31 December 2030. Checked 6 Nov 2026.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

Samsung's US support article covers its smart TVs in general, not this model by name. Asked "What models of TVs does this apply to?", it answers "All Smart TVs manufactured by Samsung." It says ACR is optional and only runs if you opted in to the Viewing Information Services notice when setting up the TV, or turned it on later in Settings. So the TV has the feature, and Samsung says it's off unless you agree to it. Checked 23 Oct 2026.

Tizen shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗
