Built-in far-field microphone
UnverifiedWhether this model has a built-in microphone (beyond the remote) hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.
Samsung's own official 2021 US spec sheet lists "Multiple Voice Assistants" and includes the SolarCell Remote, but — unlike the 2022-2025 sheets for this same tier — has no tabular "Far-Field Voice Interaction" row to check against. Reviews and Samsung's own general (undated) support article about a physical microphone switch "on the lower edge of your Samsung TV" suggest this model likely has one, and every subsequent year of this exact tier confirms it explicitly, but that comes from other years and general help pages, not this model's own spec. Unverified.
Security vulnerabilities in Tizen
UnverifiedFirmware support status hasn't been confirmed for this model from a citable source yet.
What that actually means for your TV →
Samsung's own US pages we could open don't give an OS upgrade or security update period for the QN90A, so we can't confirm whether it still gets updates.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
Has ACRThis model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
Samsung's US support article covers its smart TVs in general, not this model by name. Asked "What models of TVs does this apply to?", it answers "All Smart TVs manufactured by Samsung." It says ACR is optional and only runs if you opted in to the Viewing Information Services notice when setting up the TV, or turned it on later in Settings. So the TV has the feature, and Samsung says it's off unless you agree to it. Checked 23 Oct 2026.
