Built-in far-field microphone
Has micThis model has a built-in far-field microphone, which is the hardware hands-free voice control uses.
Samsung's own official US product page lists "Far-Field Voice Interaction: Yes" directly in its specifications table, alongside "Bixby: Yes" and "Built-in Voice Assistant: Alexa". This is the same kind of explicit hardware-capability row LG's spec sheets use for "Hands-free Voice Control", not just a remote-based voice feature. Samsung's UK pages for the QE…QN90F models (43 to 115 inches) also list "Far-Field Voice Interaction: Yes".
Security vulnerabilities in Tizen
SupportedThis model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.
What that actually means for your TV →
Samsung's US product page for the QN90F says "Plus get 7 years of automatic OS updates", based on model year and with an internet connection. Samsung's UK QN90F pages give a security update period to 31 December 2030. Checked 6 Nov 2026.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
Has ACRThis model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
Samsung's US support article covers its smart TVs in general, not this model by name. Asked "What models of TVs does this apply to?", it answers "All Smart TVs manufactured by Samsung." It says ACR is optional and only runs if you opted in to the Viewing Information Services notice when setting up the TV, or turned it on later in Settings. So the TV has the feature, and Samsung says it's off unless you agree to it. Checked 23 Oct 2026.
Looks for other devices on your home network
UnverifiedWhether this model looks for other devices on your home network hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.
How to put a TV on its own network →
We haven't found a Samsung source that says whether this TV looks for other devices on your home network. Samsung's SmartThings app can find devices on your network, but that is part of the app, with its own permissions, and Samsung doesn't describe the TV doing this on its own. LG's answer isn't applied to other brands.
