Built-in far-field microphone
No TV micThis model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.
Samsung's own official US product page lists "Bixby: Yes (Voice Ready)" — the same phrasing used on the U7900F entry, not the plain "Yes" the QN90F/QN85D sheets use — and the same page's "Remote Controller Type" is listed as "IR Simple Remote", confirming the remote itself has no microphone. Read together, this is a real "no" finding for a built-in far-field mic, not silence. Samsung's UK U8000F pages also give "Bixby: Yes (Voice Ready)" with no far-field voice row, and the UK 2025 user guide doesn't list the U8000F among models with a microphone switch on the TV.
Security vulnerabilities in Tizen
UnverifiedFirmware support status hasn't been confirmed for this model from a citable source yet.
What that actually means for your TV →
Samsung's UK U8000F pages give a "Security Update Period (At least 5 years from launch of product)" to 31 December 2030. Samsung's US U8000F product pages (65 and 55-inch) don't state an OS upgrade or security update period, and this entry covers the US models too, so it isn't marked as confirmed. Checked 6 Nov 2026.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
Has ACRThis model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
Samsung's US support article covers its smart TVs in general, not this model by name. Asked "What models of TVs does this apply to?", it answers "All Smart TVs manufactured by Samsung." It says ACR is optional and only runs if you opted in to the Viewing Information Services notice when setting up the TV, or turned it on later in Settings. So the TV has the feature, and Samsung says it's off unless you agree to it. Checked 23 Oct 2026.
