Built-in far-field microphone

No TV mic

This model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.

What a far-field mic does →

Samsung's US specifications list "Bixby: Yes (Voice Ready)" with no "Far-Field Voice Interaction" row (the 43-inch page reads the same), the same reading as the 2025 U8000F entry. Samsung lists that row as "Yes" on models that have a built-in far-field microphone, such as the 2026 M80H. Samsung's UK U8000H pages read the same: "Bixby: Yes (Voice Ready)" and no far-field voice row.

Security vulnerabilities in Tizen

Supported

This model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.

What that actually means for your TV →

Samsung's product page says "Tizen OS upgrades will be supported for up to 7 years starting from 2026, for products released in the year 2026", based on model year and with an internet connection. Samsung's UK pages give a security update period to 31 December 2031.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has Samsung's ACR feature (branded "Viewing Information Services"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

Samsung's US support article says ACR is optional and only runs if you opted in to the Viewing Information Services notice at setup or later in Settings, and that this applies to all Samsung smart TVs. This means the TV has the feature; Samsung says it's off unless you agree to it.

Settings for Tizen

ACR settings: Viewing Information Services.

Tizen shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗

All Samsung TV settings, by software version → It lists them once for every model with this software. Software updates can reset these settings, so check again after an update.
