What that actually means for your TV →
Sony UK's security update table gives a support period ending 8 October 2030 for the K-…XR35M2 and K-…XR38M2 (the table doesn't list the 100-inch K-100XR35M2), and Sony UK published firmware v6140300562 for the K-55XR35M2, K-85XR35M2 and K-55XR38M2 on 14 October 2026. Sony's product information sheets separately promise software and firmware updates for at least 8 years after the model stops being sold.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
UnverifiedWhether this model runs ACR hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
Sony UK's Samba Interactive TV page lists "Google TV models" as supported, but also says the Samba TV app isn't available on any of its 2025 UK models, so that wording doesn't cover every Google TV model. The page doesn't name 2026 models such as this one either way. If your TV offers Samba Interactive TV, Sony says it's off unless you agree to it, and can be turned off in System Preferences > Samba Interactive TV (the location may differ on your model). Checked 23 Oct 2026.
