Built-in far-field microphone

Has mic

This model has a built-in far-field microphone, which is the hardware hands-free voice control uses.

What a far-field mic does →

TCL's US quick-start guide for the 55, 65, 75 and 85-inch QM6K shows a "HANDS-FREE VOICE CONTROL MIC SWITCH" on the TV, described as a "Toggle switch to enable or disable the TV's integrated microphone" (printed page 10). Printed page 15 says you can "Speak towards the TV" after saying "Hey Google", and that hands-free use in standby needs the Screenless setting. The 98-inch QM6K isn't covered by this guide, and its own US user manual doesn't mention a built-in microphone, so for the 98-inch this is unconfirmed. The Pro variant has its own entry and source.

Security vulnerabilities in Google TV

Unverified

Firmware support status hasn't been confirmed for this model from a citable source yet.

What that actually means for your TV →

No model-specific support end date or evidence establishing ongoing firmware support was verified. An update menu or a hardware warranty is not a software-support guarantee.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Unverified

Whether this model runs ACR hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

The QM6K manual uses the name Automatic Content Recognition for automatic switching into FILMMAKER MODE (printed page 19). That description does not establish viewing-history collection, sharing with advertisers, or HDMI-content fingerprinting. Viewing-data ACR therefore remains unverified for this series; the picture-mode option should not be presented as a verified tracking opt-out.

Looks for other devices on your home network

Unverified

Whether this model looks for other devices on your home network hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

How to put a TV on its own network →

No model-specific source confirming local-network scanning was found. Network connections and casting support don't by themselves show whether this TV looks for other devices on your home network.

Settings for Google TV

ACR settings for this software haven't been confirmed from an official source yet.

Google TV shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗

All TCL TV settings, by software version → It lists them once for every model with this software. Software updates can reset these settings, so check again after an update.
