Built-in far-field microphone

Unverified

Whether this model has a built-in microphone (beyond the remote) hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

What a far-field mic does →

Toshiba's own official US product page for this series makes no mention of a microphone, far-field array, or hands-free voice feature anywhere in it. That's consistent with this tier sitting below the M550, which explicitly markets a hands-free microphone array as a headline feature this series doesn't share — but the C350 page never states the absence outright, so it stays unverified rather than turned into a firm "no."

Security vulnerabilities in Fire TV

Unverified

Firmware support status hasn't been confirmed for this model from a citable source yet.

What that actually means for your TV →

No dated Toshiba or Amazon firmware record or minimum software-support term for this specific model could be found, unlike Samsung's public seven-year Tizen commitment. Stays unverified rather than assumed either way.

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has Toshiba's ACR feature (branded "Automatic Content Recognition"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

This model runs Fire TV, and Amazon's own official Automatic Content Recognition help page — not Toshiba's — describes the feature directly: when enabled, it fingerprints content "through connected devices, such as a cable set-top-box" (not just Amazon's own apps) by sampling audio or pixels and matching against a database, and can be managed at Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition. Amazon's page doesn't state whether it's on by default. Enabling it on one Fire TV device doesn't enable it on others.

Settings for Fire TV

ACR settings: Automatic Content Recognition, Device Usage Data, Collect App Usage Data and Broadcast Live TV Data (UK).

Fire TV shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗

Fire TV settings guide: ACR and ads on every brand's Fire TV models → It lists them once for every model with this software. Software updates can reset these settings, so check again after an update.
