Built-in far-field microphone

Unverified

Whether this model has a built-in microphone (beyond the remote) hasn't been confirmed from a citable source yet.

What a far-field mic does →

Roku's sources disagree. Its comparison table lists "Hands-free voice: Yes" for the Pro OLED, with a backlit Voice remote Pro. Roku's TV v15 guide says "Your Roku TV does not have a built-in microphone" and puts the hands-free switch on the Voice Remote Pro. But Roku's product page says the RAD5 comes with a "Backlit Voice Remote" and lists no hands-free voice for it, and the 2026 quick start guide lists a "Roku TV Remote". Roku doesn't say where hands-free listening happens on this model. Checked 19 Oct 2026.

Settings for Roku OS

ACR settings: Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) and Content Viewing Disclosure (US).

Roku OS shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but there are settings that change how they're personalised. Source ↗

Roku OS settings guide: ACR and ads on every brand's Roku OS models → It lists them once for every model with this software. Software updates can reset these settings, so check again after an update.
