Hisense TV: ACR and ad settings

Where to find the ACR (automatic content recognition) and ad settings on Hisense TVs, grouped by software version. Each path comes from an official manual, help page or privacy notice, linked under it. Menus differ between versions, so find your model below or search for it.

On Hisense TVs, the documented ad settings change how ads are personalised; the ads themselves continue. Each section shows what's available.

Models: Hisense UR9SG (2026, 100 inch), Hisense UR9SG (2026, 65–85 inch), Hisense S7 CanvasTV (2026), Hisense U8QG (2025), Hisense U8N (2024), Hisense U7N (2024), Hisense U6N (2024), Hisense A6H

Ads in the TV's menus: they can't be turned off; the settings below change how they're personalised.

ACR settings

Automatic Content Recognition
Settings → System → Advanced System → Enhanced Viewing → Automatic Content Recognition

Turn it off to stop ACR. Hisense's US Enhanced Viewing notice says ACR viewing data is only collected if you opt in, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.

From Hisense's US e-manual, which doesn't name the model series it covers and says it "may not be applicable in some models/countries/regions".

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information (US)
Settings → System → Advanced System → Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Hisense's notice says to use this setting to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

Hisense's notice gives the menu; its US e-manuals for the U8QG and S7SG list an On/Off switch there but don't say which position opts you out.

Hisense says Enhanced Viewing isn't available in all locations or on all models.

Ad settings

Delete advertising IDAds continue, less personalised
Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID

Stops apps using the advertising ID for personalised ads. Apps can still show ads.

The same screen has Reset advertising ID.

Apps only modeRelated setting
Settings → Accounts & Sign In → Your profile → Apps only mode → Turn on

Hides personalised recommendations. Google says sponsored content and teasers for popular movies and shows still appear, and Search, the Assistant and your Watchlist are turned off.

Some manufacturers label the account menu differently, e.g. "Accounts & Profiles" on Hisense or "Manage accounts" on TCL UK.

Google: "You can't turn off ads, but you can control the use of your advertising ID for personalized ads across installed apps."

Fire TV (Amazon's TVs and Fire TV models from other brands)

Models: Hisense U7 Series (2026, Fire TV), Hisense U6 Pro Series (2026, Fire TV), Hisense U6 Series (2025, Fire TV), Hisense S5 DécoTV (2025, 32 inch, Fire TV)

Ads in the TV's menus: they can't be turned off; the settings below change how they're personalised.

ACR settings

Automatic Content Recognition
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition

Turn it off to stop ACR on content from connected devices such as cable boxes. Amazon says this doesn't change whether you see ads, though they may be more repetitive.

Documented on Amazon's US help pages only.

Device Usage Data
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Device Usage Data

Turn it off to stop this data being used for marketing and product improvement. Collection needed for device features continues.

Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Collect App Usage Data

Turn it off to stop Amazon collecting usage data from third-party apps.

Broadcast Live TV Data (UK)
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings

Amazon's UK FAQ says smart TVs with Fire TV can send Amazon information on your use of broadcast live TV received through the TV's aerial inputs, and that you can opt out here.

From Amazon's UK privacy FAQ (checked 19 Oct 2026). It doesn't give the switch's exact name.

Ad settings

Interest-based AdsAds continue, less personalised
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Interest-based Ads

Tells apps that use the device's advertising ID not to use it to build ad profiles or show you interest-based ads. Ads continue.

Amazon's privacy FAQ covers Fire TV devices from other brands too. Same path in the UK and US.

No setting to turn them off is documented. Amazon's Fire TV privacy FAQ describes Interest-based Ads as telling apps that use the device's advertising ID not to use it to build ad profiles or target interest-based ads; it doesn't say the ads stop.
