MG's connected services: MG iSMART. MG's UK documents describe logging out of the car's account; no factory-reset or owner-transfer procedure was found.

Bought it used? MG's UK documents don't describe how a buyer removes a previous owner. Ask the seller to unlink the car using the steps below, or contact MG.

Selling: unlink and wipe

Privacy and offline settings

Global Data Service (IM5)IM5
Settings → Privacy → Global Data Service

The IM5 handbook describes a switch that authorises dashcam, third-party app, map and voice data. It warns that if you decline the privacy policy, some functions can't be used.

Good to know

Not found in MG's public UK documents: A UK factory-reset or buyer procedure: none found in MG's current UK handbooks (MGS5, IM5, IM6 and MG4 EV Urban; the IM5 and IM6 list a "system restore" setting without saying what it does) or on mg.co.uk, which has no iSMART help pages. Also a privacy mode on models other than the IM5. Menu paths can differ by model and software version; each one here is for the version its source names.
